The Iconic Ruby Slippers To Travel To London
The original ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard Of Oz will be travelling to London for an upcoming exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The ‘Hollywood Costume Exhibition’ will be the first time the slippers have ever been on public display outside the US. The exhibition will launch on October 20 and run until November 18 {just enough time for the slippers to return home before Thanksgiving… as The Wizard of Oz is televised every year as the traditional Thanksgiving film}.

Anne Hathaway’s Valentino Wedding Gown
Valentino has released a sketch of Anne Hathway’s Wedding gown and it shows that this exquisite creation was in fact tinted pink. A representative for Valentino has said: “Mr. Valentino Garavani designed it especially for Anne and our seamstresses at the couture atelier in Rome made it. Anne is like a daughter to him.”

A Slice of Fendi’s Baguette
In celebration of 15 years of Fendi’s iconic Baguette bag, the Italian label has launched an online pop-up shop on Fendi.com. 63 diminutive styles have been re-issued for the Baguette’s birthday. And crafty customers are especially in for a treat – the ‘Baguette Box’ includes a white fabric Baguette, nine acrylic paint colours and personalised Fendi paint brushes – so you can create your own unique Baguette.

An Honorary Knighthood For Bernard Arnault
CEO of luxury conglomerate LVMH, will be awarded an Honorary Knighthood. The French, Arnault, will receive this great honour for services to the business and the wider community in the U.K.

Tom Ford Baby Boy Joy
Tom Ford has welcomed the arrival of his first child – a baby boy named, Alexander John Buckley Ford. LOVE magazine broke the news by Twitter, congratulating Ford and his partner of 25 years, Richard Buckley.

LVMH to own over 17% of Hermès
The LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) group, the world’s largest luxury goods conglomerate, has announced it will increase their stock ownership of Hermès to 17.1%. LVMH currently have 14.2% stock in Hermès and rumours are circulating that in time LVMH are set to take majority share holdings. Hermès is among the most profitable luxury labels through the recent economic downturn. LVMH currently owns Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Fendi.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian have been spotted looking gorgeous in New York with their Hermès Birkins. Khloe is carrying a striking purple Hermès Birkin while Kim opted for the classic black. Do you think these are the Birkins Kim recently picked up at Hermès in Paris? If you believe the rumours, Kim reportedly bought six regular leather Birkins at around $10,000US each as well as another handbag in crocodile to the tune of $30,000US. Hermès Birkins are an investment after all!

At the Fashion Group International’s annual Night of Stars ceremony, where Nicholas Ghesquière received the prestigious Superstar award, many of fashion’s elite turned out looking simply stunning. Anna Wintour and Kate Bosworth chose striking looks from the Proenza Schouler Spring / Summer 2011 collection. Leighton Meester also looked divine in a Giambattista Valli Spring / Summer 2011 dress.
Meanwhile, Milla Jovovich wore a gorgeous orange Temperley London gown from the Spring / Summer 2011 collection; Jennifer Connelly opted for Balenciaga and Claire Danes looked lovely in a Lanvin dress from the Resort 2011 collection.

1>> Manolo Blahnik will be in London’s Liberty department store tonight. The shoe designer will be signing copies of his new book, Manolo’s New Shoes, (pictured above). To find him head to Liberty’s World of Manolo shop space, on the ground floor, from 6pm until 8pm.
2>> The LVMH group has confirmed the refreshed demand for luxury goods, reporting a 19% sales rise over the first nine months of 2010 when compared with the same period last year. LVMH owns Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.
3>> Disney has partnered with designers Jerome C. Rousseau, Hayden-Harnett, Robin Rotenier and TomTom to launch a high-end accessory and shoe line inspired by ‘Tron: Legacy’. Targeting the film’s female audience, the line will include a pair of five-inch metallic platforms (pictured above) as well as earrings and necklace. Tron originally a 1982 action science fiction film; Tron: Legacy will be released this year and stars Olivia Wilde.
4>> Ralph Lauren was presented with the prestigious Mayor of New York’s Key to the City honour. In recognition for his contributions as a designer, business leader and philanthropist; Lauren received the award at the opening of his new Ralph Lauren women’s flagship store on Madison Avenue.
5>> PETA denied it is planning to attack Victoria Beckham after the Daily Mirror reported the group intended to douse “a bucket of animal blood – cow or lizard – at her next UK public appearance”. Beckham created several different pieces from crocodile and lizard skins for her latest range. PETA has asked that she contemplate using other materials. “We don’t believe that Victoria has chosen to ignore the plight of these animals, we just worry that the information didn’t make its way to her,” a spokesperson from PETA.
6>> Stella McCartney’s new children’s wear range will be launched on November 3rd. Available from www.stellamccartneykids.com, the collection includes looks for boys and girls ranging from 0 to 12years. The designs will also align with McCartney’s signature style and aesthetic.
7>> Jennifer Lopez and her twins, Max and Emme, are the stars of Gucci’s debut children’s wear campaign. Shot back in July, the campaign features the three beach side in the new range.
8>> A unique fashion event will be occurring this Friday at the Taste Restaurant, Hammersmith. The show will include disabled and non-disabled designers and models. ASOS.COM will show their latest collection there. Organised by Hafad, the Hammersmith and Fulham Action on Disability, the showcase starts at 6pm and tickets cost £10 to be purchased in advance.
