Fall Campaign Spotlight

Fendi’s Artistic Muse For Fall

Fendi Fall = La Dolce Vita

My Sunday inspiration came in the form of Fendi’s Fall 2011 Campaign…

Featuring Anja Rubik, for the third consecutive season, the photos were taken inside an artist’s studio and were lensed by Karl Lagerfeld.

When first presented during Milan Fashion Week earlier this year, Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi described their collection’s muse as a “buttoned-up-to-the-neck art teacher who was still wild enough to wipe her paintbrushes in her hair and unleash the animal within.”  The collection featured fussy-free femininity with pieces both chic and effortlessly wearable. Practical pieces in sturdy fabrics created a textured, luxe simplicity.  Structured silhouettes were teamed with oversized coats; while ribbed wool stockings in shades of mustard, teal and brick red, brightened the runway and were worn with sweet, chunky Mary Jane heels.

Electric, refined, preppy and mysteriously alluring – love this collection and the campaign!

For those in the Northern Hemisphere; do you know which Fall essentials will you be adding to your Autumn / Winter wardrobe? xx

The Fall Campaigns So Far

The Autumn / Winter 2011 Campaigns are beginning to be released and I have featured some of my favourites so far below. From Freja Beha dressed as a cat for Chanel; to the fresh faced Elle Fanning for Marc Jacobs and Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu – it looks set to be a memorable season.

For Chanel, Freja Beha is once again used; however, with completely different results. Beha is firstly pictured as a cat perched in a slightly scruffy photo booth; followed by another shot in the same location, but this time with French written across her forehead. The rough translation is Coco Chanel’s iconic quote “A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion.”  Little has been revealed about the campaign so far, yet rumours are suggesting it was styled by Carine Roitfeld (previously the Editor of French Vogue) and of course shot by Karl Lagerfeld.

Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld both look seriously chic for Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu respectively.

Bottega Veneta’s Fragrance For Women

The Italian luxury fashion House, Bottega Veneta, best known for its signature leather goods, is launching its first fragrance for women.

Described as a “leather, floral chypre” scent; the fragrance consists of: oak moss, Italian bergamot, Indian jasmine sambac, Brazilian pink peppercorns and Indian patchouli. The scent represents the “invisible, private luxury” associated with the House. The elegantly simple bottle is made of Murano glass, (for limited edition) and is decorated with a sweet leather bow. Nine d’Urso, the daughter of French fashion icon Inès de la Fressange, is the face of the campaign.

New ‘IT’ Bag Alert

Mulberry is already home to IT bags the ‘Alexa’ and ‘Bayswater’ and it now looks set for the ‘Polly Push Lock’ to join this beautiful group. Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge was pictured carrying a Mulberry Polly Push Lock handbag while departing for America.

The compact carryall shoulder bag, in textured leather, exudes a luxe vintage aesthetic. Available to purchase through Net-A-Porter for £616.67, I predict this bag is going to be huge (especially now it has a Princess’ seal of approval)!

Beauty Editorial Inspiration

Entitled ‘Forbidden Kisses’, Lily Donaldson features in a gorgeous beauty editorial for Vogue Japan’s August 2011 edition.

The prettiest tones of pink (used from the eyes to the lips and cheeks) create an ultra feminine, playfulness. The softness of the looks play upon Donaldson’s delicate beauty for innocently, seductive results… LOVE THESE LOOKS!

Have a fabulously fashionable weekend! xx

Emma Watson’s First US Vogue Cover

Emma Watson has landed her first US Vogue cover at just 21 years of age!

The glamorous beauty covers the July 2011 issue of American Vogue, ahead of the release of the final Harry Potter film. Looking immaculately polished with her flawless skin and striking, delicate features; Watson wears a divine gown from the Prada Fall 2011/12 collection. Photographed by Mario Testino, within this issue Watson also wears looks by Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.

Watson is a fan of young British Designers – often choosing to wear labels such as Erdem and Hakaan, among others – and said in her interview with Vogue US: “I thought: “If people are going to write about what I’m wearing, then I would wear young British designers who need the publicity.”

Angelina Jolie By Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton

Renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz has photographed Angelina Jolie for the Louis Vuitton Core Values campaign.

The Louis Vuitton Core Values campaigns celebrate Vuitton’s timeless classics pieces, in real situations on real people. Reclining on a wooden boat in Cambodia, Angelina Jolie looks serenely beautiful with her own six-year-old monogrammed ‘Alto’ carryall bag.

Of the campaign, Louis Vuitton’s executive vice president, Pietro Beccari, has said: “People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation. I like the fact that it’s a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand.”

Previous people to feature in this campaign, include; Bono and his wife Ali Hewson in Africa; Sofia Coppola and her father Francis Ford Coppola in the Buenos Aires countryside; Keith Richards in a hotel suite; and Mikhail Gorbachev, former President of the Soviet Union and Nobel Peace Prize winner in the back of a limo passing remains of the Berlin Wall.

Jolie will donate a significant portion of her fee to a charity, which will most likely be the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation in aid of community development and conservation in Cambodia.
