Clare Waight Keller – the new Creative Director at Chloé

It has been announced today that Clare Waight Keller, former creative director of Pringle of Scotland, will take the helm of French label, Chloé.

Taking control of the label on June 1st, Clare Waight Keller (pictured right) will replace fellow Brit, Hannah MacGibbon, who was with the label for over 10years.

Clare Waight Keller has become known as the person who brought modernity to the heritage brand, Pringle Of Scotland. With an innovative approach to knitwear, she presented her first collection for the label in February 2006, before going on to win the Scottish Cashmere Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards in 2007.

Of her new role, Waight Keller has said, “I am thrilled to be joining one of the most prestigious design houses in Paris. Chloé is a brand that conveys a beautiful sense of effortless femininity and vivacious sophistication that I look forward to continuing into the next era.”

Sophia Loren has been Honoured In Hollywood

Renowned as one of the most beautiful women in the world, the enchanting Sophia Loren has been celebrated in Hollywood. The ceremony was held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, on the 50th anniversary of her Oscar win.   

Did you know… Loren was the first person to win an Oscar for a foreign-language role? Winning the Oscar in 1961 for her role in ‘Two Women’, Loren then went on to receive over 50 International Awards. Loren received a lifetime achievement Oscar in 1991 and was declared “one of world cinema’s greatest treasures.”

Sophia Loren is also a style treasure. Words fail to accurately describe exactly how exquisite some of her photographs truly are.

The first image from Vera Wang’s ‘Lovestruck’ campaign has been released starring Leighton Meester.  The 25year old Gossip Girl favourite looks absolutely divine in a floor length purple gown. C’est Magnifique!

Marchesa For Playboy

Renowned for their extraordinary red carpet gowns; Marchesa designers, Keren and Georgina, have tackled the iconic Playboy bunny costume. The exclusive model has been created to celebrate the opening of the new Playboy Club in London on June 4. Looking to embellish the iconic costume with a couture touch, Marchesa have said,

“very excited for the opportunity to design one of the iconic symbols of pop and fashion culture. We were inspired by the original costume, but we added some of Marchesa’s signature details: embroidery and draping while respecting the classic corseted silhouette of the Playboy costume. The result is a modern and feminine rendition of this legendary look”.

Pierre Cardin To Sell Fashion House

Pierre Cardin is selling his legendary fashion house. At 88, Cardin has said, “I know I won’t be here in a few years and the business needs to continue.” Founding his house in 1950, Cardin was one of the pioneers of brand licensing. His name is now carried on hundreds of products, including; clothing, shoes, bottled water, furniture and perfume.

Best Dressed at Met Gala

Decadence, glamour and divine red carpet fashion statements – were of course the order of the day at the Met Gala. Many guests were dressed in McQueen, even the lady of the moment herself, McQueen Creative Director, Sarah Burton (aka the creator of the Duchess of Cambridge’s gorgeous wedding gown) (pictured below). Stella McCartney also had an impressive turn out of celebrity support. McCartney (pictured below), the Gala co-chair, wore a black strapless dress and platform sandals from her label.
