A Sunday Dose Of Chanel…

Indulge Your Sunday With Some Stunning Chanel Perfection…

Embellished, intense and exquisitely beautiful; Chanel is pure luxury in its most decedent form.

Tonight is the Golden Globes and as celebrities frantically prepare themselves to dazzle on the red carpet, I have chosen a selection of my favourite Chanel evening gowns to celebrate.  I would happily (ok, make that ecstatically) wear any of these divine creations to this event… and I am particularly partial to Carmen Kass’ billowing apricot dress composed entirely of feathers (pictured above centre). Now that would be a red carpet moment!

The Chanel Spring / Summer 2011 collection took its inspiration from the Last Year at Marienbad, a film from the early sixties in which Chanel herself originally designed the costumes for Delphine Seyrig (the leading lady). From feathers to sequins; ribbon to lace; the detail, shape and innate beauty was simply extraordinary.

A Tutti Frutti Fashion Trend

Brighten up your wardrobe with colourful fruity looks inspired by the Spring / Summer 2011 collections.

Between Prada, Stella McCartney and Moschino Cheap & Chic, designers were feeling for a Summer health kick. There were Banana prints on the Prada runway, while Miuccia Prada herself wore banana earrings backstage. Of her colourful collection, Miuccia Prada said: “I’m tired of minimalism.”

Meanwhile, at Stella McCartney, models looked fresh, vibrant and citrusy in luscious lemon and orange prints. At Moschino Cheap & Chic, a divine lemon print 50’s inspired skirt teamed with a matching top and waisted belt, made my heart stop! So divine! Other fruits that took to the runway included; apples at Miu Miu and cherries at Anna Sui, while at Blumarine models carried lemon handbags.

However, dressing in fruit can be daring. If you would prefer to ‘taste test’ this fruity trend, check out Charlotte Olympia’s banana clutch bag or mixed fruit platform heels (pictured right). The striking heels are decorated with interlaced pineapples, bananas, strawberries and watermelons. It is the perfect way to incorporate the trend into your everyday style with effortless flair.  Of her pieces, Charlotte Dellal, the designer behind the Charlotte Olympia label, says; “They are tongue in cheek but wearable, I like accessories which have a sense of humour.”

So be daring in citrus! Make a colourful, fresh statement. You can now eat your fruit and wear it too! xx

The Best Dressed Ladies Of The Week Are…

Kate Bosworth, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester & Kylie Minogue all stepped out looking stunning this week in some of my favourite designer looks from the Spring / Summer 11 & Autumn / Winter 10 collections!

The looks on the catwalk…

1>> Kate Bosworth looked divine in an Erdem Spring / Summer 2011 look. The white lace and red embroidered flowers are sophisticated, feminine and simply perfect!

2>> Meanwhile, Blake Lively was style personified in Versace. This Gossip Girl’s fashion style is continually evolving and I am loving her red carpet looks of late.

3>> While in Madrid for ‘Herbal Essences’; another Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester, wore a black dress from the Versus Autumn / Winter 2010 collection. A classic little black dress at it’s best!

4>> And finally, Kylie Minogue performed at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade wearing a look from the Chanel Fall 2010 collection. The tweed coat with faux fur trims looks delightfully warm yet oh-so chic!

Who is your best dressed this week? xx
