About Akira Isogawa
Drawing heavily on traditional Japanese aesthetics and techniques, Akira Isogawa is one of Australia’s premier contemporary designers. Working almost entirely with natural fabrics, Isogawa’s intricately layered and embellished pieces are feminine, soft and romantic.
An artist of textile design, Isogawa works with many methods to manipulate and transform fabrics. Origami, embroidery, hand painting and shibori (a dyeing process which involves twisting or folding the fabric to create coloured patterns), are all used to bring his creations to life.

Feeling peachy keen, jellybean…
Peach, orange and tangerine dreams are my September colour palette inspiration.
The perfect shade of orange can be positively mesmerising.
Peach shades look lovely and romantic – just look to the mesmerizingly exquisite Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture collection! With thousands of beads, sequins and crystals in an array of delicate fabrics— from chantilly lace to silk jacquards – Elie Saab creamy sorbet creations are truly immaculate.
Meanwhile bold and brilliant tangerine accessories pack the perfect punch for Summer. I am also head over heels in love with Lancome L’Absolu Rouge lipstick in shade 134 – the perfect ‘orange toffee-apple red’ for luscious lips.
This month I am also dreaming of: Paris; Chanel; Marilyn Monroe; beautifully fragranced candles; oversized clutch handbags; and the hypnotic style of Lana Del Rey…
