The Catwalk to High St- Part2

The Decedent Luxe AW Trends

This is part 2 of my favourite designer & high street takes from the Autumn / Winter trends. The other major looks to cover this fall are: Opulence, Leather, Lace, Military and Global Traveller… I hope you enjoy!

Opulence

After all the talk of minimalism some designers did rebel, creating opulent pieces covered in sparkling darling embellishments. From rich gold embroidery to an abundance of sequins and feathers – ornate looks accompanied by dynamic statement accessories stood out at: Balmain, Elie Saab, Alexander McQueen, D&G and more.

Designer Choice: Elie Saab (pictured above)
At Elie Saab opulent cocktail and full length evening dresses shined in this gorgeous shade. The cut out detailing and deep V neckline gives an undeniably sexy note to this sparkling vision.

High Street Choice: 1971 Reiss (pictured above)
1971 Reiss embellished bomber jacket is too cool for school! It’s sexy and sparkly but with an edge. Love the striking sequined pattern!

Leather

Luxe super soft leather appeared across the catwalks, especially in black. Striking, sleek black leather in the form of dresses, Capri pants, skirts, trenches and even sweaters… looked dynamic yet surprisingly feminine.

Designer Choice: Diesel Black Gold
At Diesel Black Gold this back leather asymmetric dress stole the show. With flattering ruching, the perfect length and a cute slit at the hem for easy movement, this dress is seriously hot!

High Street Choice: 1971 Reiss
1971 Reiss’ sweet leather black shift dress is so cute yet also sexy! Love the soft grey sleeves for complete effortless glamour.  Magnifique!

Lace

Super fine delicate lace took decadence to a new level. From Givenchy to Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino to Christopher Kane; lace was dark and barely there over pale bare skin. Walking the line between pure glamour and grunge, lace has a whole new ‘feel’ this coming season.

Designer Choice: Dolce and Gabbana
The barely there overlay dress perfectly accompanies the daring lace under suit. Not for the faint hearted, I adore the long light sleeves and billowing soft skirt at the knee.

High Street Choice: TopShop
The TopShop lace inspired dress and body suit is a dark, alluring and mysterious look. From the fittingly titled collection the ‘Dark Nouveau’, this dress is high impact.

Military

Military-inspired fashion remains at the heart of the action for this coming Autumn / Winter. With brass buttons, leather strap & buckle detailing and pockets to die for – it’s time to get enlisted now!

Designer Choice: Burberry Prorsum
Burberry Prorsum’s polished military jacket is ready for action. With several flawless jacket options to choose from in the collection, Burberry is the only place to visit for military magnificence.

High Street Choice: Zadig & Voltaire
Sharp, chic and tailored, Zadig & Voltaire’s military jacket is striking.  Love the gold detailing at the neck and those pockets are perfect. Zadig & Voltaire I salute you!

Global Traveller

Layer, layer, layer! The global traveller trend is an assortment of exotic combinations. Bring together stand out prints, soft faux fur, statement jewellery and even hints of embellishment. Contrast different textures and fabrics and don’t hold back! Think more is more!

Designer Choice: Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Autumn / Winter collection is a fusion of cultures from around the world. The message: the world is flat and dressing has become a melting pot. Luxe materials, fur and prints combine with ease in gorgeous rich hues of reds, oranges, grey and black.

High Street Choice: Zara
Zara’s August casual fall collection is a bohemian laid back take on the traveller trend. With layers-upon-layers, chunky knits, prints and fringing; Zara tops it off perfectly with classic loafers.

What is your favourite trend for A/W? Are you looking forward to this exciting new season? x
