Channel ‘Little Mermaid’ chic, with designers choosing to embrace a beautiful underwater world for Spring/ Summer 2012.

Whether a literal translation in Mary Katrantzou’s vividly realistic coral reef prints (pictured above) or the subtle yet shimmering mother-of-pearl lining of a shell at Giorgio Armani (pictured below); water magic proved the perfect inspiration for a season to be spent by the sea.

Breathtaking underway magic took place on the Paris catwalks. At Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld’s sea nymphs and at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton’s water goddess’, were simply breathtaking.  This beautiful underwater trend, proved to be one of the buried treasures of Fashion Week… j’dore!
