Kamola S/S 2011

Last Saturday I was invited by Kamola & LilaBoutique.co.uk to a preview of Spring / Summer looks in Kensington.

The Creative Director and Founder of Kamola, Kamola Malikova, was on hand to talk about her pieces; her inspiration; and take personal orders for her made to measure S/S 11 looks. Champagne, Canapés and shopping… what better way is there to spend a Saturday?!

I have included some of my favourite looks from the Kamola Spring / Summer collection below. Striking graphic prints, divine lemon yellow and seductive lace will make for a sophisticated summer. My absolute favourite look is the white high-waisted A-line skirt, grey lace top and pink cape! So dramatic, feminine and chic xx

Also at the event were some gorgeous dresses by Laundry Room and Butter By Nadia. The photos of the red Butter By Nadia look are actually all of the same dress!  This ‘one size fits all’ dress in rayon jersey wraps, twists and drapes around the body to create endless styles! It’s amazing! And the two cute dresses below by Laundry Room are both so cute and so reasonably priced at only £50.00! I want the colourful one! You can buy all of these looks from www.lilaboutique.co.uk

Chanel Oh La La in today’s Espresso Shot Of News…

Chanel is my true fashion love. My crème de la crème. Anyone wearing or talking Chanel instantly captures my undivided attention.

Last weekend Chanel Fine Jewellery sponsored the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Arts gala. Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Bilson and Ginnifer Goodwin all attended wearing Chanel. Kate Bosworth and Ginnifer Goodwin looked stunning in black gowns, while Rachel Bilson chose a look from the Cruise 2010 collection (also worn by Georgia Jagger in the ad campaign). Kirsten Dunst wore a white full length gown and striking red lips to ooze Old-Hollywood glamour.

Chanel Spring/Summer 2011

Decedent, intense and undeniably beautiful, the Chanel Spring / Summer 2011 was pure perfection collection. The collection took inspiration from the Last Year at Marienbad, a film from the early sixties in which Chanel herself originally designed the costumes for Delphine Seyrig (the leading lady). With an epic 87 looks, the runway show went for 18 minutes and was accompanied by the sound of a full orchestra of 80 musicians.

As for the clothes… well they were everything a Chanel dream is made of. Incredibly beautiful, exquisite detailing and heaven sent! This collection also had an unexpected cool – Chanel suits were expertly moth-eaten, denim was frayed, there were digital floral prints and feather embroidery.

It was pure luxury on the Chanel catwalk xx

It’s Tom Ford Tuesday in today’s Espresso Shot of News…

Tom Ford Is Back & Better Than Ever

After six years away from the world of womenswear, Tom Ford is back in what people are calling his best work yet.

Making his return in the Vogue US December 2010 issue, Ford is pictured with models wearing his highly anticipated spring 2011 collection. Showing the first glimpse of the collection, which was shot by Steven Meisel, models; Carolyn Murphy, Anja Rubik, Joan Smalls, Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Karen Elson and Edita Vilkeviciute, look spectacular in pure seventies glamour.

The collection was originally shown in top secret in New York on September 12th to just a select group. Journalists were banned from revealing any details of the collection until now. Modelling for Ford that day were some of his most stylish and beautiful friends. These included; Beyoncé Knowles, Lauren Hutton, Julianne Moore, Natalia Vodianova, Karlie Kloss and Abbey Lee Kershaw, amongst others.

Of his return, Ford said: “There’s a continuity from what I was doing at YSL at the end; that’s the customer. It’s about individuality. Real clothes, real women. For a fashionable woman aged 25 to 75. That’s why I literally put many of my own muses in the show.”
