Embrace Refreshing Juicy Orange

Be Bold, Be Bright & Be Blissful in Orange

Across the Spring / Summer 2011 collections, designers embraced colour with a loving intensity.

From gorgeous shades of pink and aqua to crisp perfect white, the coming Spring / Summer season is set to be a courageously colourful affair. However, it was one particular colour that seemed to steal the spotlight… orange!

Orange is bold, vibrant and zesty. And the perfect colour for summer. It creates a youthful flare and is the perfect colour to wear with a darling summer glow. From tangerine to blood orange; go high-glamour in a striking orange dress with a contrasting bold colour handbag – i.e. in hot pink or gold – for maximum impact. Alternatively, why not incorporate zest into your accessories. Nothing says classic chic like an Orange Hermès Birkin (a girl can dream!).

Last week, Drew Barrymore (pictured above) attended the 50th Anniversary of Covergirl Cosmetics in West Hollywood. Wearing an orange look from the Jil Sander Spring / Summer 2011 collection; Barrymore was simply glowing. The floor-length strapless gown in a streamlined silhouette and popping burst of tangerine intensity made for a dramatic red-carpet moment! Love Jil Sander S/S/11! xx

Chic This Week

Wonderful White

Photos from vogue.co.uk

Nothing looks as chic as white on the red carpet.

White is fresh, sophisticated and youthful. It looks amazing on any skin colour and body shape. When done correctly, white definitely makes a fashion statement!

In the last week, several highly fashionable ladies have worn white with effortless style and finesse. Choosing white dresses from some of my favourite designer houses – from Valentino to Dior and Pucci. I was especially thrilled to see Kate Bosworth wearing a look from Jil Sander’s S/S11 collection. The crisp white tee and long mint coloured skirt are so divine! Kate Bosworth’s red carpet style is beyond words! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

The details…

>> Michelle Williams’ mini dress by Dior is ultra sweet! William’s wore white to the premiere of her film Blue Valentine.

>> Kate Bosworth was perfection in Jil Sander

>> Jessica Alba wore Valentino to the premiere of Little Fockers in New York.

>> Gwyneth Paltrow chose Monique Lhuillier while receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

>> Lea Michele wore The Row at the Hollywood Style Awards.

>> For the X Factor final Dannii Minogue sparkled in Jenny Packham. (Ok I know this technically isn’t white – but this dress is so gorgeous it needed to be included)

>> Making the list for the second time this week, Gwyneth Paltrow wore Pucci.

Who do you think wore white best on the red carpet this week? xx

Milan S/S Collections

My Milan Favourite Pieces…

Photos from style.com

While I usually select my favourite 15 looks, the magnificent Milan offered so many delightful pieces that I just couldn’t choose! So I decided to extend my top looks to 17! These are my favourite looks from Milan Spring / Summer Fashion Week…

Luscious white and gorgeous shades of oranges and pinks again captured my attention. I want the entire Fendi collection and have a new found love for D&G. Versace offered its usual spectacular array of feminine pieces that oozed pure siren sex appeal; Just Cavalli’s 1970’s edge was undeniably cool; while Jil Sander’s maxi skirts in lovely shades and patterns was a breath of fresh air.

Meanwhile Prada’s S/S collection was probably the most unexpected. It was a feast for the eyes, offering everything from monkey and banana prints, stripes, florescent coloured furs, and shapes that took inspiration from uniforms – prisoner, postman, sailor, to name but a few. Miuccia Prada’s statement of the collection, “It’s time to be bold”. It is Prada after all….

In conclusion, Milan was simply magnifique xx
