July Inspiration…
My quote of the month is from the darling iconic beauty Audrey Hepburn… “I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.”
I love the pure sweetness of Audrey Hepburn’s overtly girly quote and I am determined to embrace her philosophy for July. This month I am all about ‘beauty’ and maintenance – my nails will always be perfectly manicured and I shall be wearing lipstick in an assortment of luscious shades every day. Overdressing is already a forte of mine; however, I am certain it can be taken to a new level for Audrey. Let the challenge begin (I cannot wait)!
On another exciting note, Uptown Twirl will be turning one on July 10th! Celebrations will commence soon so be sure to watch this space!

Uptown Twirl Illustrations
In just over a month it will be the 1st birthday of Uptown Twirl – with my initial post being made on July 10th 2010. This realisation put me in quite a reflective mood.
I have spent this afternoon thinking back through my past year – the amazing experiences I have had (many a direct result of Uptown Twirl); how far my site has come; and my aspirations for it in the future. There are so many exciting things that will be happening on Uptown Twirl in the coming months and I cannot wait to share them all with you!
In the meantime though, while I was looking back through the hundreds of images I have accumulated for numerous posts, I came across some of my favourite illustrations. I created many of these illustrations to accompany articles and often times just because the subjects were so exquisitely beautiful (i.e. my favourite perfume – Coco Mademoiselle – which also remains probably my personal favourite illustration).

My June Inspiration List…
Today is June 1st, which means it is time for my monthly Inspirations list. Recently re-watching Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain (Amélie), has delighted my imagination & sent my love of Paris soaring.
This whimsically delightful film depicting Parisian life, has also enticed me to dedicate the month of June to encouraging imagination and enjoying the simple pleasures. Amélie’s love of cracking a crème brûlée with a teaspoon, going for walks in the Paris sunshine and skipping stones across a canal – will make your heart smile. Watch Amélie or your favourite film and enjoy every moment.
