Chic This Week

Jessica Alba’s Evolving Style

Photos from twenty2.onsugar.com and style.com

This year Jessica Alba has been dressing to impress. With an evolving style that includes a taste for the major fashion houses – from Chanel to Dior, Balmain, Valentino and Dolce and Gabbana – Alba is set to fast become a style icon.

So… this week we celebrate the emerging fashion style of Jessica Alba!

Making a name for herself in the fashion world, Alba is regularly topping the best dressed lists. With many of her looks taken straight from the catwalk, Alba’s effortless carefree glamour makes for the perfect accompaniment to the striking pieces. Choosing show stopping dresses to flatter Alba’s incredible body, I think Jessica Alba’s stylist may be in need of a raise…

Alba’s relaxed weekend look, red-carpet glamour and carefree elegance – always has her looking ultra chic and making quite the style statement.

My Favourite Jessica Alba look:
Dolce and Gabbana, Fall 2010 Collection

Tailoring, sex appeal, lace and lingerie are what Dolce and Gabbana are known for. Always creating immaculately tailored pieces that fit and flatter a woman’s curves – they know women and how to dress them. Elegant yet undeniably sexy, the Dolce and Gabbana dress (pictured top) was one of my favourite looks from the Fall 2010 collection. The seductive floral print with lots of sheer layers is refined, chic and sexy. Love the long sheer sleeves and unfinished hemline. Bellissimo!

What do you think of Jessica Alba’s style? Who are your style favourites? xx

Stella McCartney For Target

Photos from designersfortarget.com.au

If you have ever considered taking a trip Down Under now is the perfect time… Stella McCartney’s second collection for Target has been announced!

While Stella McCartney has just shown her 2011 Spring / Summer Collection in Paris; it was also revealed her second collection for Target (Australia) would be hitting selected stores on October 29th!

The 42 piece Spring / Summer collection incorporates an impressive array of chic, versatile separates. Jeans, trousers, skirts, dresses, blouses and t-shirts are all well represented in McCartney’s smart, chic signature style. A true reflection of McCartney’s design aesthetic, the collection has a strong focus on her sharp tailoring and well-cut silhouettes. Lace and sequins are also used with great success for polished, sexy feminine separates.

McCartney’s last collaboration with Target in 2007 sold out within a couple of days. And with prices ranging from just $20 to $199 (both in Australian Dollars), this collection looks set to fly off shelves even faster! It will also be available up to size 16. Target unveiled the collection at the Altona mansion harbour-side at Point Piper. Instead of a catwalk, models moved and interacted around different displays – from taking high tea to lounging in deck chairs.

My Favourite 5 looks:

1. Tulip Dress with Tie in Magenta
This dress is my absolute favourite! Love it! The sleeve length, neckline and nipped-in waist work perfectly for a powerful, sexy look. And the magenta colour is divine! (pictured above in Ivory)

2. White Lace Tee and Ivory Tulip Skirt
The lace tee and tulip skirt are so pretty together. Love the tulip shape combined with the delicate lace.

3. Collarless Jacket, Lace Tee & Tight Lace Trouser
Signature Stella style – the ivory jacket, black lace tee and cigarette trouser equals seriously chic.

4. Lace Dress in French Blue
With a beautiful neckline and sleeves, this lace dress is lovely in French blue.

5. French Blue Shirt with Tie and Wide Leg Trouser
A fantastic pair of trousers are an essential part of every woman’s wardrobe. When combined with a dress shirt means effortless chic.

The Catwalk to High St- Part2

The Decedent Luxe AW Trends

Photo1 from Reiss.com & Photo2 from Style.com

This is part 2 of my favourite designer & high street takes from the Autumn / Winter trends. The other major looks to cover this fall are: Opulence, Leather, Lace, Military and Global Traveller… I hope you enjoy!

Opulence

After all the talk of minimalism some designers did rebel, creating opulent pieces covered in sparkling darling embellishments. From rich gold embroidery to an abundance of sequins and feathers – ornate looks accompanied by dynamic statement accessories stood out at: Balmain, Elie Saab, Alexander McQueen, D&G and more.

Designer Choice: Elie Saab (pictured above)
At Elie Saab opulent cocktail and full length evening dresses shined in this gorgeous shade. The cut out detailing and deep V neckline gives an undeniably sexy note to this sparkling vision.

High Street Choice: 1971 Reiss (pictured above)
1971 Reiss embellished bomber jacket is too cool for school! It’s sexy and sparkly but with an edge. Love the striking sequined pattern!
