The Iconic ‘LOB’

The ‘LOB’ (otherwise known as the ‘Long Bob’), is the perfect way to freshen up your style for Summer.

Loved by stylish women around the globe, the Lob flatters all faces and ages.

From Jennifer Aniston to Thandie Newton; January Jones to Jessica Alba, the lob is a low-maintenance style which highlights the jaw line and flatters the face.

Styled to sit just above or below the shoulders, the long bob is fast becoming a cut classic. Creating crisp lines around the collarbone, it is a flattering, chic and modern hairstyle – perfect for nonchalant elegance.

Taking little effort to style, the long bob is the perfect option for carefree Summer hair. It can be straightened, curled or worn naturally for effortless sophistication.

You can take the Lob and make it your own. Mark Townsend, Elizabeth Olsen’s hairstylist has said: “Some long bobs can look drapey and drab. Layers add volume and thickness.”  The shape and texture of your long bob can dramatically alter your appearance.  A one-length lob with blunt ends can be polished perfection; while a choppy lob which is longer at the front can soften the face.

Accessories

Get Geek Chic

No longer labelled a mundane day-to-day necessity; your reading glasses should be one of your most carefully considered accessories.

With the extensive range of designer lenses now available, your reading glasses can be an extension of your own unique style.

From elegant simplicity to tongue-in-cheek sophistication, your frames can add a fabulous finishing touch to your look.

As with any type of shopping purchase, be sure to carefully consider what looks best on you. There are lenses to perfectly frame every face – so be patient and try lots of pairs until you find your glass slipper equivalent.

But don’t be shy when selecting your specs! Strong statement shapes and hypnotic colours (from fire engine red to luscious candy pink; rich tortoise shell to classic, timeless black) speak volumes about your style and personality. Bold, heavy rimmed frames are especially sexy – instantly giving you a geek chic status that evokes a ‘devil may care’ attitude.

Soft Tailoring

Relaxed tailoring gives a soft, ladylike appeal to fresh Summer looks.

A softly tailored trouser or blouse, are powerful yet feminine looks which can stylishly take you from boardroom to bar.

For Spring / Summer 2012, designers have embraced relaxed tailoring in ultra feminine and flattering ways. Sophisticated, sexy and chic, these looks emphasise clean lines and refined yet delicate cuts.

As her first collection appointed as Chloé’s Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller created pretty and practical Spring / Summer looks.

Describing her collection as: “Fluidity and femininity, but boyish”; it emphasised pleats; A-line shapes; and full trousers. The collection evoked an effortless elegance and ethereal softness brought on by the delicate tailoring. Silhouettes were highlighted at the waist with belts and the collection appeared in foundation colours – perfect for a Summer spent lounging by the pool in the South of France.

For the campaign, Chloé then enlisted Karmen Pedaru & Kate King (pictured top).
