IN THE PRESS
The week that was….
FASHION:
- Lanvin’s now in New York
Lanvin is the oldest French fashion house in operation and its new Madison Avenue, New York store will set your heart racing! At 6,875 square feet and five floors (3 of which are shopping & 2 will become headquarters) equals pure paradise in my books! Walls of necklaces, shoes and handbags set the mood for what I can only assume is truly magical experience! Can’t wait to visit!
- Fashion & Business Entrepreneur – Natalie Massenet – Net a Porter
This week I had the pleasure to watch the live stream video of Natalie Massenet of Net a Porter speak with The Business of Fashion’s founder Imran Amed. The interview was rich with inspiration, ideas and showcased Massenet’s extraordinary know-how. Some of the topics touched on included: bloggers vs. editors, the fashion cycle, Mr. Porter launch and more. The Net-a-Porter iPad application was also launched simultaneously and looks seriously impressive! Click here watch Natalie Massenet show BOF around Net a Porter Headquarters in North London.

FASHION – Miami Swim Fashion Week
Swimwear Trends – Prints, Colour & 60’s edge
Last week Miami held the Spring / Summer 2011 Mercedes-Benz Swim Fashion Week. Across the catwalks the main trends that started to emerge were patterns, colour & a salute to 1960’s Swimwear sophistication.
Accessories – Mid-Height Heels
Cute, Stylish & Comfortable Alternative to Heels
At the Autumn / Winter 2010 collections, a range of foot wear trends started to appear on the catwalks – from riding boots to socks under heels and bright colour-blocked heels. One shoe trend that I am particularly excited about is the shorter mid-height heels. Seen at Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Valentino and more – these mid-height heels will keep you looking oh-so chic while saving your feet.
