Baby It’s Getting Cold Outside

For all you lovely ladies in the Northern Hemisphere with Winter weather just around the corner, a statement coat is a stylish must-have.

Evoking an old-world sophistication, a beautiful coat is a powerful wardrobe investment.

Two chic ways to stay warm this winter – the classic trench coat or a vividly bold colourful coat – will keep you both snug and sophisticated whatever the weather may bring.  So be sure to fall into a warm, delightful one this season…

The Trench Coat

With a design based upon function and style and boasting an impressive fashion history– the trench coat is a true fashion icon.

This century-old staple is one of the most versatile pieces you will ever own. Wear it with the collar up; open and fastened at the back; or neatly belted. Choose the traditional luxe beige shade or embrace a seasonal tone… the possibilities are endless.

The trench has also had countess ‘love affairs’ with the world’s most stylish – just think of Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard’s romantic embrace in Breakfast At Tiffany’s; their matching Burberry trench coats ever chic amidst the pouring New York rain.

The Colourful Coat

Fight off the winter blues with a vibrantly exuberant coat. A tailored coat in a splash of decedent, rich colour is the perfect antidote for the grey weather outside.

Luxe in their simplicity, a bold coat packs a powerful punch.  Accentuate your shape with a classic feminine silhouette – nipped in at the waist or belted – for a timeless look.  A colourful coat is the perfect way to liven up cozy classical basics.

Whatever your style and body shape, there is a coat to suit your individual Winter needs.

A beautiful coat exudes an unmistakable je ne sais quoi – ensuring you look stunning even when the weather is not… xx

A sprinkling of Holiday Cheer with 4 Espresso Shots of Fashion Christmas News…

Jewellery Collection Inspired By
Disney Princesses

Chopard has collaborated with Harrods to create a Haute Joaillerie collection of pieces inspired by Disney Princesses. The ten piece collection features a selection of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and hairpieces evoking the ethereal beauty of Belle {pictured above left}, Snow White {pictured above right}, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Mulan and Ariel.

The launch of this collection, co-insides with Harrods’s 2012 Christmas window displays {which also looked to Disney Princesses for inspiration}. Many of the world’s leading designers – from Oscar de la Renta to Versace, Elie Saab and more – dressed the princesses in their exquisite creations.

The Chopard Haute Joaillerie collection is available exclusively to Harrods until the end of December.

Christian Dior Creates Printemps’ Christmas Windows

Printemps’, the iconic Parisian department store, has been given a ‘New Look’ by Dior. Celebrating the City of Lights, the Christmas display features a selection of legendary Parisian landmarks from the Eiffel Tower to the Tuileries Garden. 74 dolls were hand-crafted by Dior artisans for the 11 window display, which will also present the House’s latest Haute Couture pieces, fragrance and watch collections.

Happy Holidays From The Hilfigers

The usual Tommy Hilfiger crew return to celebrate Christmas the Hilfiger way. The family portrait captured on the slopes this season, features a selection of traditional winter looks from wool scarves to fur hats, knitted jumpers and more. I wonder if the Hilfiger’s would adopt me…

David Beckham’s Christmas Campaign

David Beckham is celebrating the festive season by adding several new pieces to his H&M Bodywear Collection. The pieces range from drawstring pyjama bottoms to lounge shorts and towels. Beckham, of course, will model for the Christmas campaign himself, which will start to make its appearance over the next couple of weeks.

The Statement Piece

With the festive season just around the corner, what better way to make a glamorous entrance then with a statement piece of exquisite jewels?

From diamonds to emeralds and sapphires, glisten with irresistible sparkle this Christmas season.

Decked out in some extraordinary gems for Vogue Russia, this editorial featuring the beautiful Jacquelyn Jablonski, captures the innate luxury and grandeur of precious jewels.

But you needn’t break the bank to achieve the decedent splendour of a statement jewellery piece. Costume jewellery can be just as enchanting and beguiling in beauty.

“Costume jewellery is not made to give women an aura of wealth, but to make them beautiful.”

– Coco Chanel

The illustrious Coco Chanel herself was very fond of costume pieces and greatly popularised the use of faux stones, pearls and metals in her iconic pieces {even though she had quite the collection of precious gems}.

Favouring multi-coloured semi-precious stones – such as aquamarine, topaz and amethyst – Chanel would make the stones emphatically larger and bolder in colour for that added drama and mystique. She first introduced costume jewellery to her label in the 1920’s – the simplicity and elegance of her ‘little black dress’ the perfect blank canvas for lavish gems and jewels…

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! xx
