A British Espresso Shot Of News…
The winner of the British Fashion Council / Vogue Designer Fashion Fund has been announced… and Christopher Kane has taken the award!
Taking the prize of £200,000 as well as business mentoring from some of the fashion industry’s leaders– Kane beat other highly talented designers in the shortlist. Also up for the award: Richard Nicoll, Peter Pilotto, Jonathan Saunders, Osman Yousefzada, Patrick Grant, Nicholas Kirkwood and Charlotte Olympia.
Editor of Vogue UK, Alexandra Shulman has said of Kane’s win: “I am delighted that Christopher has won the second BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award. The shortlist was very strong and we were impressed by the level of talent which was inspiring”.
The Scottish designer graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2006. As well as creating for his own label, Kane designs the ‘Versus’ collection with Donatella Versace. Kane’s strong collections are dynamic, charismatic and always exquisitely beautiful…

for me there is too many colors and patterns
I know we’ve seen the fluoro brights before but he has an interesting take on them here – I read this collection was influenced by a book on the Royal family – now we just need Kate M to wear his designs!
