Within just one day Beckham had 101,000 likes; with thousands wishing the designer many happy returns. Her facebook page is set to bring the latest news from her brand’s collections.

Sarah Burton Named on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list
Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s Creative Director and designer of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, has been named on Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list. Taking the reigns as Creative Director in 2010, Burton has continued McQueen’s exquisite work season after season. In the issue, Sarah Jessica Parker pays tribute to the designer writing: “She is a young woman who shouldered an enormous burden and privilege with dignity, heart and strength”.

The Spring / Summer 2012 Collection
With extraordinarily breathtaking detail, the Alexander McQueen Spring / Summer 2012 collection is a heaven sent, fashion fantasy. Sarah Burton, McQueen’s creative director, said of the collection: “This is a collection about excess. It’s an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them.”
In a colour palette of shimmering black, gold, silver, white, peach and red; the collection was filled with divine ruffles, lace and delicately beautiful allure. Raised waist silhouettes created exaggerated lines of movement Burton described as how “a jellyfish moves in the sea”. Shoulders were emphasised and curves accentuated with bustles.
With an avant garde edge, the ready-to-wear collection was practically couture with its extreme attention to detail. Every piece was hand sewn with half made in the UK, half made in France – some by Burton herself.

Happy Birthday To Cecil Dell’Orefice For Friday!
Cecil Dell’Orefice, one of the world’s oldest working models, will celebrate her 80th birthday this Friday June 10th.
Gracing the cover of American Vogue at just 15 years of age in 1947; Dell’Orefice went onto become the face of Chanel (pictured above), Rolex and Elizabeth Arden campaigns (pictured below right). Most recently Dell’Orefice walked the catwalk for Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2011 collection (pictured below left). Previously, she also took to the catwalk for John Galliano and Hermès.
The Royal Wedding Gown On Display…
During this year’s Annual Summer opening of Buckingham Palace (July 23 – October 3), the Duchess of Cambridge’s royal wedding dress will go on display. Designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the gown stopped hearts around the world for its exquisite, intricate beauty. While you swoon over this incredible history making gown, you can also check out the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s traditional fruit wedding cake as part of the display.
