On Saturday night I had a truly delightful evening and to this joyous occasion I wore a Cue Dress, my Wayne Cooper Clutch and Mollini heels.

As soon as I saw this simple little black dress I knew I had to have it in my wardrobe. Reminding me of something Audrey Hepburn might have worn, I simply adore the ¾ sleeves; sweet neckline; and fun A-line skirt (perfect for twirling!). The pop of colour, with the aqua belt at the waist, makes it all the more fun!

On another note, I’m sorry for the lack of posts over the last couple of days. Since Sunday I have had a terrible cold.

Stylish, chic and effortlessly enchanting, a beautiful silk headscarf will instantly add a luxe cruise appeal  to a Summer spent by the sea or in the city.

As seen for Temperley London Spring / Summer 2012, headscarves were the perfect finishing touch to this sophisticatedly alluring collection.

Taking inspiration from Grace Kelly in High Society, the collection evoked a sizzling high glamour perfectly accentuated by this classic accessory. Whether teamed with a draped satin gown or beaded French lace – the headscarf added a timeless, iconic Old-Hollywood appeal. Headscarves were secured on the side and appeared in luxe white and striking leopard print on the runway.

To achieve a similar look…. pull your hair back into a low ponytail. Fold a square scarf diagonally into a triangle and place the centre of the scarf (along the long edge of the triangle) at your hairline. Bring the edges of the triangle around your head tightly and tie it under your ponytail. Begin to twist your ponytail and the tied ends of the scarf together; then wrap it around into a tight bun. You can then neaten the look by tucking any extra bits of hair and scarf under the bun for effortless summer chic…

Lemon Lovelies

Brightening the red carpet like beautiful little rays of sunshine, shades of luscious yellow quite simply took my breath away. A high voltage colour, yellow is a bold, daring and unmistakably alluring tone to choose when walking the red carpet.

My Best Dressed Of The Night: January Jones, who exuded pure Old-Hollywood glamour and siren appeal, was exquisite in an Atelier Versace yellow gown. Inspired by the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, this custom strapless gown featured structured metallic detailing and a peplum waist. Her sleek locks and vintage jewellery completed her darling look.

Emma Roberts wore a divine marigold yellow Escada gown, which had been custom-made in silk-gazar. It also featured a striking structural silhouette with a peplum detail. While Solange Knowles wore a yellow Rachel Roy gown for the occasion.

Short Stories

A bevy of lovely ladies chose to wear cocktail length to this highly fashionable event. Fun and flirty yet also fashion-forward, shorter dresses added an unexpected breath of fresh air to the red carpet.

Emma Stone wore a custom-designed dress by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin; Kate Bosworth went with a Prada ostrich feather creation; Carey Mulligan also wore a bespoke Prada dress (the two-tone sequins simply breathtaking!); and finally, Kristen Wiig wore a 50’s inspired-dress which finished just below the knee.

Christian Louboutin Glass Slippers

To celebrate the re-release of Disney’s Cinderella on DVD and Bluray, Christian Louboutin is creating his own special take on these iconic glass slippers. Louboutin was asked by Walt Disney Studios to create an edition of the glass slippers inspired the 1950 animation, to be unveiled in July.

Of his task, Louboutin has said: “Isn’t it everyone’s dream, to once in your life be part of a fairy tale? Walt Disney Studios gave me a wonderful opportunity to live this magical moment. I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”

Betsey Johnson Files For Bankruptcy

Betsey Johnson has filed for bankruptcy protection under the Chapter 11 US Bankruptcy Code. Johnson, who will turn 70 in August, will stay on as Creative Director; while unfortunately, 63 of her stores will close. The label will now focus on Johnson’s lower-priced line. “I feel so sad for my store people and all my pink girls. They live and die for me. But I need to be better. I really need to work well and be more efficient.” - Johnson has said.

Heidi Klum’s Children’s Line

Heidi Klum has teamed with Toys ‘R’ Us Infancy Department to create a children’s collection. ‘Truly Scrumptious’ will be available from September and include clothing but also venture into home wares, toys, soft animals, night lights and more.
